"PUDGY PAWS PROGRAM" At Sacajawea Healthcare for Pets

Obesity is one of the biggest health threats facing people and their pets.  Several years ago, one of our technicians decided that we could help people with their overweight pets if we provided a Weight-Watchers-like program of advice and support.  This program is free to any of our clients who need a little help with their pet's weight issues.
Why do we keep emphasizing weight control? We now understand that fat isn’t just something that we carry around with us. It is active tissue that produces a variety of hormones and inflammatory chemicals with far-reaching effects. An extra 2 pounds of fat can make arthritis worse, cause diabetes, worsen breathing problems, and interfere with other hormone functions. Pets that maintain a lean body live an average of 3 years longer.
If your pet has a problem with their weight, call our clinic and we would be happy to enroll your pet in Pudgy Paws. Your pet will receive regular weigh-ins, medically appropriate weight loss suggestions, and calculated food recommendations. Best of all, you will be reminded when it is time for the weight check-in. And there is no charge for the program. Give us a call; your pet’s loss is your gain.

To make the Pudgy Paws Program even more fun, we are offering a little contest (which everyone can win):
Pets on our PP Program have a goal weight that is set by our doctors. Once a pet achieves 1/2 of the desired weight loss, (no matter how this miracle is accomplished), the persistent pet owner will receive a free bag of OM, Purina’s prescription weight loss food. To learn more about this program, come by or call our receptionists for a brochure and more details.
