Services

From preventive health care to surgery and intensive care, we offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

The Physical Examination:
Regular check-ups are the basis of healthcare.  All pets should have a thorough examination yearly; dogs and cats over 7 years old should have regular health checks twice a year.

Vaccinations:  The major infectious diseases can be prevented by keeping up-to-date on vaccinations.  Vaccine schedules have changed in the last few years, and Sacajawea Healthcare for Pets uses the latest vaccine protocols.

Diagnostic  Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide blood and urine testing, bacterial culturing, fecal parasite exams, x-ray, and ultrasound services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.

Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.  Laser surgery is used for certain procedures, where it minimizes bleeding and post-surgical pain.

Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.

Electrocardiography Services:  We provide ECG services in-clinic, as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.

Dentistry:  Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions, and minor oral surgery.

Permanent identification: We offer and highly recommend microchip identification for every dog and cat.

Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.

Individualized Flea Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. Current flea treatments are extremely safe and effective, so there is no need for your pet to suffer from flea bites.  We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

Behavioral Counseling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.  Anxiety-related disorders are common and can be treated to improve your pet's total well-being.

Birds, ferrets, rabbits, rats, and other small mammals:  Our doctors have experience with the problems of these pets.

Emergency Care:  We have several excellent 24-hour emergency clinics in our area.  The phone numbers for the emergency clinics can be accessed from our answering machine or from the website menu to the left.
